On to the MTC-2 shocks! Check out these build tips from Randy Caster!
Before installing the 1up Premium Shock X-Rings I’m letting them soak in shock oil for about an hour to swell up a bit. After drying them off, I apply a heavy coat of 1up Blue to the entire X-Ring and install them in the shock.
Applying a dab of 1up Blue to the first few threads of the shock bodies is the best way I’ve found to install threaded collars, give it a try!
Dip the first few threads of your shock shafts in 1up Blue before installing to minimize the risk of scratching the X-Ring surface for the best seal and smoothest shock action.
Fill the shocks with oil and pump them a few times to release any trapped air. From here I’ll let these sit overnight so the X-Rings can finish swelling and the oil can settle completely.
We’ll still use the shock pump tomorrow to ensure all the air is released, but shocks always feel better to me when you give them time rather than rushing this process.
